challenge

The music NFT platform Brots approached us to create an experience that would excite the public and industry professionals about music NFTs as a new digital music format. How do you represent this nebulous technology to the general public in an engaging way?

concept

Blurring the boundaries: //Refracted Sound was conceived as a spatial translation of blockchain technology, symbolising the blurring boundaries of physical and digital industries. By unifying scenography, multimedia, and audience engagement we created a unique experience for passionate music fans. Three listening booths brought to life songs from featured artists: Ginevra, Deriansky and Alda. The artists, from independent record label Asian Fake, provided songs which were accompanied by visual content created ad-hoc for the event.

Music NFT:
a new digital collectible

A grid of plinths or ‘blocks’ was used to portray blockchain technology in physical space. Using every detail to bring this digital medium to life, binary code on each block spelt out MUSIC NFT, with the space arranged for visitors to move within the ‘blocks’, step inside the blockchain and discover the music of the featured artists.

Refracted sound and colour

Dichroic acrylic with its ability to refract light in a mesmerizing dance, bathed the entire space in a spectrum of vibrant colors, each hue subtly shifting and evolving as the day progressed, creating an ever-changing visual spectacle.
