concept
Echo Archive is an exploration into how we perceive sound, rhythm, and the physicality of musical notes. The work, inspired by Cymatics – the study of sound and vibrations made visible – and Chladni Plates transforms the intangible qualities of a bespoke soundtrack into a visually dynamic journey, combining light, sound, and space.

The Architecture

The Architecture

The installation features a series of gauze panels, creating an environment where visitors can navigate through layered spaces. As they move through the artwork and their perspective shifts, they become an integral part of the installation. Light projections interact with their presence, while the audio subtly shifts as they move, creating a layered experience that feels transformed by their journey through the artwork.

Sound

Sound

The soundtrack includes manipulated recordings of our voices, along with sounds specific to the installation’s location, such as ambient noises from the park and city, enhancing its site-specific nature. This fusion of acoustic sounds, vocal experimentation, and digital manipulation creates an audio archive of the area that is deeply personal and echoes alongside its visuals in the space where it belongs.

Sound Visualised

Sound Visualised

A single projector casts shifting patterns across six increasingly larger gauze panels. These projections transition between geometric shapes reminiscent of digital signals and organic forms that evoke analog sound waves. The visual elements evolve alongside the soundtrack, creating a seamless interaction where light and sound synchronise to unfold a dynamic narrative as visitors move through the space.
